Rebecca Mozo/Covid 19 Facemasks Story

Eight years ago, Rebecca’s husband, Rusty, passed away unexpectedly and not long after, Rebecca took some of her husband’s special shirts, like the ones he wore to their daughters’ weddings and decided to make her first quilt. Since then, she has made many quilts and in the meantime, joined 2 quilting guilds and participates in her church’s quilting group.   At Rebecca’s Church, Trinity Lutheran, 20-30 Ladies meet every other Tuesday to make donation quilts and numerous other comfort items for the sick, the homeless, and anyone in need. It is through Rebecca’s numerous contacts in the local quilting community that Rebecca decided to turn her sewing efforts towards making Protective Masks against the Corona Virus. Rebecca, using quilting fabric and elastic, has made over 45 masks and counting. She, along with others from the local quilting community have now joined together and have made more than 500 masks and donated them to Flowers Hospital, Southeast Health and other Medical facilities that are short on supply, and they plan on making hundreds more. We are so honored that Rebecca Mozo, a paralegal at Shealy, Pike & Hornsby, is a part of our team and is serving our community in such a caring way. We at Shealy, Pike & Hornsby extend our unending gratitude to all the people who are difference makers during this time of crisis in our nation and to all of these wonderful ladies involved in making protective masks for the men and women on the front lines of health care in our area working endless hours taking care of Covid-19 patients. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the virus and especially those who have lost loved ones, and we hope it is vanquished soon.
